What appealed to me about Hibiscus In Blush was the softness of its colour. The pale pink petals have a much gentler quality than some of the brighter hibiscus varieties I have photographed, and I particularly liked the subtle changes of tone across the flower.
I wanted to keep the photograph very simple and allow the shape and colour of the hibiscus to speak for themselves. The pale background helped preserve that delicate feeling and kept all the attention on the flower.
