I photographed Snow Whisper on one of those rare snowy days in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire. Snow completely changes the character of the forest, and that morning everything felt unusually still and quiet.
As I walked through the trees, this beautiful white horse stopped and looked directly at me. It remained there long enough for me to take the photograph, perfectly framed by the surrounding woodland.
The white horse against the snow, with just the softer colours of the trees around it, gave the scene an almost fairytale quality. It was a wonderful moment to come across and one I was very pleased to capture.
