I have always found that moonlight on the water can sometimes be even more beautiful than the sea during the day. The colours change completely and the whole scene can take on an almost dreamlike quality.
With Blue Moonlight, it was the reflection of the moon across the water and those deep shades of blue that caught my attention. I used a slow shutter speed to soften the movement of the sea and create the atmosphere I was seeing in front of me.
What I particularly like about this photograph is its simplicity. There is very little in the frame apart from the sea, the light and the changing tones of blue, but for me that is what gives it its quiet and slightly unreal feeling.
