I photographed Sunrise in Motion II at dawn on the Dorset coast. The sky was filled with soft bands of pink, blue and orange as the first light began to spread across the sea.
I used a slow shutter speed to soften the detail and introduce movement into the scene. Rather than recording the sunrise exactly as it appeared, I wanted the colours and lines to blend together and create something more impressionistic.
What I particularly like about this photograph is the gentleness of the colour. There is movement throughout the image, but it still has a wonderfully quiet and peaceful feeling.
