Pink Hibiscus Diptych is part of an ongoing series I have photographed in the Canary Islands, where the extraordinary variety of hibiscus flowers has kept drawing me back. Rather than concentrating on a single bloom for this piece, I wanted to bring two photographs together and explore how the shapes, tones and details of the flowers interact when seen side by side.
I was particularly drawn to the intensity of the pink petals and the delicate structure within each flower. Pairing the two images gives the work a sense of rhythm and balance that a single photograph would not have had. Pink Hibiscus Diptych is available as a limited-edition fine art flower photograph and is especially effective at larger scale, where the colour and botanical detail can really be appreciated.
