Snow Kiss was made while I was walking through the New Forest National Park in Dorset during winter. I came across two black horses standing together in the snow, and what caught my attention was the quiet tenderness of the moment as they moved gently towards one another. I waited until their heads came together, creating an intimate gesture against the simplicity of the snowy landscape.

I chose to present the photograph in black and white because it stripped the scene back to what interested me most — the relationship between the two horses, their dark forms and the softness of the snow around them. Snow Kiss is available as a limited-edition fine art horse photography print and works particularly well at large scale, where the simplicity and emotion of the image can have a strong presence within an interior.

I always had my camera with me and would take a picture of anything that inspired me this being one of those special moments.
