Walking on Water was photographed at Nazaré, Portugal, where the Atlantic can produce extraordinary surf. I was drawn to the scale of the wave and the way the lone surfer seemed almost weightless against the power of the sea. I waited for the moment when the rider and breaking water came together naturally, creating a composition that felt both dramatic and beautifully simple.
